Winter Jamboree
03:08
|
|||
Wake me when the winter's over-
wake me when the summer thaw begins..
the trees are bare the lake is frozen
let's pretend we're rabbits in the den
We'll gather round the fire,
and watch the snow conspire sneakin' in.
if you have to go out, better put those snow-shoes on your feet
now the snow is fallin' the apple mead is finally kicking in
we watch the world get older, but we remain the same
age 'til the end
We'll gather round the fire,
and watch the snow conspire sneakin' in.
if you have to go out, better put those snow-shoes on your feet
another storm predicted another seven inches to begin.

Weather Man
03:28
|
|||
Hardened hearts don't change the weather
why don't we find some where better?
perhaps a place outside the city
perhaps a place where no one knows me...
somewhere you never think of rain
somewhere clouds seem out of place
somewhere i can see your face
somewhere we belong.
home...
sunday morning grab the paper
take my coffee from the table
sit outside beneath the oak trees
think about how things were supposed to be
somewhere you never think of rain
somewhere clouds seem out of place
somewhere i can see your face
somewhere we belong...
home.
it all changes for a reason
but that reason is beyond me
well i don't know where i'm goin'
but i sure know where i've been.
somewhere you never think of rain
somewhere clouds seem out of place
somewhere I can see your face
somewhere we belong.

Forty Days Lost
02:52
|
|||
The sadness in my soul,
it lessens over time.
the rhythm of my heart
a poem without a rhyme
believe me when i say that it's time to go
you're no longer crushin' my little soul
the tyrant's heavy hand
the weight of all the world
so lift up your crooked head
show me what your worth
believe me when i say that it's time to go
you're no longer welcome in my home
the peacock's feathered fan
buried beneath the sand
show me where you've been
we're going to the promised land.
believe me when i say that it's time to go
you're no longer welcome in my home.

World
02:34
|
|||
military trucks and helicopters lookin for the people stuck in the flood on their rooftops.
wildfires burn and the police turn their backs to the helpless thousands in the smoke
it ain't a joke just the world that we live in.
not the world that i wanted.
looking at the front page you gotta be insane to think that we all live in harmony you can't see you need to turn of that t.v.
cause hurricanes and tidalwaves are all on the way if we don't start to change our wicked ways see the change you start to sway its not a joke. just the world that we live in.
not the world that i wanted.
pavin' up the forests so you can make a profit
killin' all the whales so you can have some makeup
but you can't keep it up. mother earth is angry, she's a little crazy, she'll be back to show us who's the boss
not the one that you thought it was
not the world that i wanted.
with a war on terror and a war on drugs
fear runs rampant, extinguishing the love
but the real war to be sure is fought for your freedom
throw you in a cage and tell you that you need it.
to give up everything.
not the world that i wanted, or needed.
you have to see.

Built To Last
03:01
|
|||
Build this house from the ground
made of stone from your heart
make it strong for when the storm arrives
we're safe inside, filled with light
build this boat for the sea
watertight so we don't sink
make it strong, make it one
so we don't sink into oblivion
let the roots of this tree
grow towards love permanently.
let these vines intertwine
let them bleed for the God of Wine
watered for centuries.
let them be.

Moses
04:02
|
|||
I climbed a mountain then i turned around.
what I thought was a path just leaves and grass were
beaten down
at least they know their place in the world
grow until they're pushed to the dirt.
the golden calf was born in the middle of the night.
all the people started praying to its brilliant light.
i threw my tablets to the ground
as a million flying locusts started going round and around
at least they know their place in the world
fly until they're pushed to the dirt.
i climbed a mountain then I turned around
when i got to the top just sticks and stones was what I found
at least they know their place in the world
lie there without saying a word.
hitch-hiking back to the promised land.
when we finally get home, there won't be no one left
all i really ever wanted was a second chance
all i really ever needed was a second chance.

Mountain Sons
03:36
|
|||
dark heart stream take me down to the bottom
of the town where i grew up
sun it seems to be lost in the shadow of the trees
it's swallowed up
i am a firstborn mountain son
drink from the fountain i have found.
songbirds sing from leaf to leaf and i am taken by the song they have always sung
watch the water as it moves past the boulders sitting swirling, then undone
i am a firstborn mountain son
drink from the fountain i have found
nature sleeps beneath the veil within the roots of every single living being
one you stop and look around its plain to see that we are part of everything.
i am a firstborn mountain son.
drink from the fountain i have found.

Festivus!
03:37
|
|||
hey my friends it seems the hour is finally coming near
when we choose endless love above fear
take a drink and we will talk about the things we missed
the good times and the bad times getting pissed
wouldn't take it back for anything
couldn't take it back for anything
shouldn't couldn't wouldn't take it back
for anything!
take a drink until the bottom half is finally found
it's half full if an optimist's around
shot of whiskey shot of rum
the fridge is stocked lets have some fun
take a taxi and get drunk.
wouldn't take it back for anything
couldn't take it back for anything
shouldn't couldn't wouldn't take it back
for anything!
hey my friends it feels so good to be back home
with you tonight
cause home is hanging out with who you love
wake up early time to go
new york city and the road
no one will ever know
no one will ever...
